What are Islanders?
Islanders are bloggers (typically 5) who compete on the blogs main page for the top position. Islanders compete by writing articles more popular than other Islanders. They compete for prestige and for a large share of the earnings. If an Islander's popularity falls too low, they may be "voted off the island", in which case the top Drifter is allowed onto the Island.

What are Drifters?
Drifters are bloggers who write articles published on the Drifters' page. Drifters, like Islanders, compete for the top position on the Drifters' page. But unlike Islanders, Drifters do not share in in earnings. The top drifter can be allowed on the Island if they become more popular than the lowest Islander, causing the Islander to be "voted off the Island." In that case, the drifter becomes an Islander and begins earning a share of the blog's revenue. The previous Islander becomes a drifter and now must complete with other drifters to hopefully earn their position back on the Island.
